For parents, grandparents, and teachers

A storybook you color together and keep.

Most coloring books are a stack of pictures that get tossed. Ours tell a funny story first, with real dialogue, a light lesson, and a sock to find on every page. You read it together, color it together, and end up with a keepsake your family made.

Why grown-ups like it

Made for the kid coloring and the grown-up reading

Funny for you too

Little jokes for kids, bigger ones for grown-ups. If you've ever lived with a rule enforcer who just wants everyone safe, or a tiny lawyer with a loophole for everything, you'll recognize both sisters.

Made for little hands

Thick, simple outlines with big spaces to color, a short story sized for ages 3 to 7, and bonus activity pages after the story.

We talk to you, not your kids

Harper and Charlotte never tell children to buy anything. Book info in our videos and emails is for grown-ups only.

How Lilac Lane started

Two real dogs. One very good question.

Harper and Charlotte are our family's Cavachons. Harper is the one who sits politely and waits. Charlotte is the one who steals the socks. Every time we left the house, we wondered what the two of them were saying to each other.

So we started telling that story. The humans make a rule. Harper enforces it, because she wants everyone safe. Charlotte finds a way around it. Things get messy. And in the end, the sisters always fix it together, right before the humans walk back through the door.

Every page gets a mom's approval before it goes to print.

Questions grown-ups ask

Are Harper and Charlotte real dogs?

Yes. They're real Cavachon sisters, almost five years apart. Charlotte came home on Harper's fifth birthday. The stories are what we imagine they get up to when nobody is home.

What ages are the books for?

Ages 3 to 7. The story is short enough to read in one sitting, and the outlines are big and simple for little hands.

Crayons, colored pencils, or markers?

Crayons and colored pencils work best. Pages are printed on both sides, so markers can bleed through.

Is it a good gift?

It's a $9.99 paperback for ages 3 to 7, with a story, a sock hunt, activity pages, and a certificate at the end. Grandparents, color it with them on your next visit and it becomes a keepsake from you.

Can I use the pages in my classroom?

We'd love that. Email hello@sistersoflilac.com and tell us about your class.

Where can I buy the books?

Life on Lilac Lane storybooks are sold in paperback on Amazon.

How do I get in touch?

Email hello@sistersoflilac.com. A real person reads every note.
